The original video included a blank flipchart sheet, which was intended to show a lack of ‘Labour’s policy’ but was filled in by someone else.
The video shows Mr Sunak saying: “Today I’m going to be doing an explainer on Labour’s policy for our country’s future.”
He then turns over the first sheet of a flipchart to show six points headlined: “Keir Starmer’s first steps for change.”The video has been manipulated. The original video was posted by the Conservatives and shows an empty page when Mr Sunak turns the page of the flipchart.A sheet of paper which Mr Sunak said would show Labour’s plans, had been left blank. Mr Sunak then shrugged and walked away.
At around 6.19pm, the Labour Party uploaded the same video to TikTok, however instead of a blank sheet, it had added its six “first steps for change” to the footage, above the caption “Thanks for the plug Rishi!” and a thumbs up emoji. We want our comments to be a lively and valuable part of our community - a place where readers can debate and engage with the most important local issues.
