29-year-old Stephany Bilecki pleaded guilty on July 8, 2024, in Fairbanks, Alaska, to two counts of second-degree murder for killing her two infant daughters. A Fairbanks Police Department investigation after the 2017 incident uncovered internet searches on Bilecki’s phone that included “ways to suffocate” and “ways to kill human with no proof,” among others. FPD did not begin investigating the 2015 case as a homicide until after the death of Bilecki’s second daughter, according to a 2018 FPD press release.
“Guilty,” Bilecki said, barely audible, when Superior Court Judge Patricia Haines asked how she pleaded to the second and fifth charges on her six-count indictment.
