INDIANAPOLIS — Construction on the Nickel Plate Trail on the north side of Indianapolis is beginning to ramp up.Some drivers say more construction is causing them more headaches.Both directions of Fall Creek Parkway North Drive will be closed at Evanston Avenue near the Indiana State Fairgrounds through April 30.Detours won't last too much longer. Not satisfying news for others.
"I don't think I would ever move on this side of town," said Sofia Romancastaneda."It's really annoying. It makes your drive longer and sometimes even to get out the house to go somewhere that has to be on this side of town you have to think, plan out how long it's going to take you." 13News spotted several drivers perhaps ignoring the posted signs on 38th Street when making a left onto Fall Creek Parkway. They were forced to make a U-turn due to a barricade blocking parts of the road. Access is only granted to those needing access into the fairgrounds."They have been doing construction for awhile especially planning for the bus line so everything does change but at the end of the day just be aware of what you're doing and where you're going," said Kyra Lee.
