In not-so shocking news, it turns out Bethesda’s next gen update is full of bugs, including some that can wipe your save file.
Why is this not a surprise? The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S will be four years old this Christmas and yet it’s taken until now for Bethesda to release a ‘next gen’ patch for the nine-year-old Fallout 4. Thanks to the Amazon TV show it’s been much anticipated but, in what in hindsight seems inevitable news, it’s turned out to be a bit of a disappointment.
The general consensus amongst PC users seems to be that they’d rather not have had the patch at all, since it breaks many existing mods and has caused more problems than it’s worth . The update does include some new content but that’s available separately on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and it seems like that would’ve been the better option for PC as well – since fans have been updating and improving the graphics for years anyway.
