False alarm, turns out Starfield physical editions will come with discs after all Starfield Bethesda Xbox
With Starfield set to come out later this year and many fans excited to jump in, some were disappointed when, in a now-deleted Tweet, the Bethesda Support account claimed that copies of the game would not have a physical disc. Taking to social media, Starfield fans were outraged at this comment but it could possibly be a mixup.
The now-deleted tweet was in response to one fan asking if the Standard Edition of Starfield for Xbox Series X would include a disc. In that tweet, Bethesda Support said, “Hello! All physical editions include a code for the chosen platform. There are no physical discs.” Fans have since taken to social media to note their displeasure at the response but some users believe it might have been a complete misunderstanding.
One user pointed out that the account might have confused the Constellation Edition of the game with the Standard Edition. The former is set to only release with a digital code instead of a disc. In their post, user said, “Since the tweet was deleted it seems likely that they were talking about the Constellation Edition but the support got confused and accidentally implied all physical versions had no disc. For Collectors editions that’s pretty common these days because there are lots of consumers with digital consoles.”. Now, it seems that both the Standard Edition and the Premium Edition Upgrade will include game discs upon release.
