Families could get extra £15 a month for each child until the end of September

Norfolk supermarket vouchers: this is the latest help to be given out to families on low incomes via the government's Household Support Fund

Many families in the UK are to get an extra cash boost every single month until the end of September. The help comes via the Household Support Fund , which is a government scheme that’s given out via local councils.

The latest help, which is to be given out until the HSF ends at the end of September, will come in the form of supermarket vouchers to help meet the higher costs of the weekly food shop. Who is eligible for the help? Parents of children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals are to get the help, worth £15 per child, per month.

Doing so can ‘help raise extra funds for your child’s school . This Government funding can help with extra tuition, teaching and after school activities.’ Wakefield Council is also giving out £75 supermarket vouchers to any families in receipt of Council Tax Support before the end of the school year.
