Changes to benefit payments The benefit payment date change is due to the second May bank holiday, which falls on Monday 27 May. The changes will affect many people on Universal Credit and Child Benefit, along with some other benefits.The change will also affect the following HMRC benefits: My payment is due earlier in the month – does this affect me? If you are claiming one of the above benefits but are due a payment on a date other than Monday 27 May, this change won’t affect you.
