16-year-old Quamar Parker was found in Cold Creek on Bellingrath Road in Theodore.
According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, he was swimming with friends when his parents noticed he never came home.Family and friends returned to the bridge where Quamar was found to say goodbye with a balloon release.“Kind of been some trying days trying to push and make sure the kids alright make sure my sister alright,” Korey Dailey, Quamar’s uncle said. “Trying to merge it together as a family and get through these trying times.
“For me, it’s just, I was out here last week when we were looking for him. I guess it kind of gives you some closure. But it’s not so much about how I feel, just being here to support his mother and the sisters,” Williams said. Williams was there when multiple divers went into the water to look for his great-nephew after an hours-long search.Several of Quamar’s former teammates came out to show their support.
“He loved to play basketball, loved the ball, loved to play basketball,” Dailey said. “He loved being around coming up to Atmore being with his family in Atmore. He just loved being around his family.”“Quamar Uncle Korey love you!” Dailey said. “Uncle Lee loves you too Quamar. May you rest in peace. Back with your grandmother and great-grandmother now.
