Despite the potential for conflict, 62 percent still see board games as an essential part of the festive season.
Despite the festive season being associated with love and harmony, a recent study by toy maker Mattel reveals that more than 60 percent of British adults have experienced arguments over board games during Christmas . The study, involving 2,082 participants, also found that nearly one-third had a full-blown argument due to a game gone awry, and 11 percent reported that a board game dispute led to a relationship breakdown.
However, 62 percent of respondents still consider board games an essential part of the holiday season. Cheating is cited as the leading cause of rows (49 percent), with 78 percent admitting to bending the rules at times. While the risk of family feuds exists, the majority view board games as a positive way to spend time together during the festive period
