Family member booked in fatal stabbing under Foley PD investigationAccording to Foley PD, on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at approximately 10:50 p.m., the Foley Police Department responded to a residence on Park Avenue in Foley for a disturbance. When officers arrived they discovered that 29 year old James Ryan Vaughn of Foley had been stabbed. A witness on scene informed officers that Mr. Vaughns's brother, 33 year old Wesley Nathanael Nance of Foley, stabbed Mr.
Lifesaving measures for Mr. Vaughn were taken at the scene. He was transported by ambulance to the emergency room at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, but he did not survive. Wesley Nance was located not far from the residence by responding officers and was taken into custody. The District Attorney's Office was consulted on the information and evidence gathered in this case, and Nance will be charged with Manslaughter.
