Justin Johnson, 16, collapsed after being outside with classmates, who used a racial slur that was caught on a doorbell camera.
While the Lower Paxton Township police investigation is ongoing, 16-year-old Justin Johnson’s father Orville Johnson hired a Florida-based personal injury law firm, Osborne & Francis, to conduct their own, separate probe.
A Tuesday autopsy found Johnson died of complications of sickle cell disease. Cardiomyopathy was another “significant condition,” according to the Dauphin County Coroner’s Office. Police responded to a home in the 3000 block of Bianca Way at about 9:55 p.m. Friday for a report of a 16-year-old boy in cardiac arrest. The boy, Johnson, was transported to the Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.found that “video footage viewed to date does not show Johnson being harmed,” and police pointed out that he re-entered his home by himself.
