The family of a child injured in the Southport attack, where three young girls were fatally stabbed, released a statement thanking those who saved their daughter's life and expressing gratitude for the ongoing support. The statement also acknowledges the ongoing pain and unanswered questions surrounding the horrific event.

The family of a child injured in the Southport attack issued a statement following the sentencing of Axel Rudakubana . Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, along with Bebe King, six and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, were fatally stabbed in a horrific attack on a Taylor Swift-themed workshop in Southport on July 29 last year. Rudakubana further admitted attempting to murder eight other children, and two adults, Leanne Lucas and John Hayes, who also suffered serious knife wounds during the incident.

'Thank you to everyone we encountered during our time at Alder Hey – and for the ongoing psychological support we receive from the hospital. Thank you also to the police and the CPS for the work they put into bringing this case to court. 'We are grateful to everyone who has kept our daughter in their thoughts over the past six months. To the friends and family who have been there and supported us every step of the way - we love you. 'Our daughter continues to make a good recovery.
