The bakery was named among other winners at the Scottish Baker of the Year 2026 awards including Best Biscuit, Best Doughnut, Best Multiple Retail Product, Best Pastry, and Best Celebration Cake.
A bakery based in Inverness that has branches around the Highlands has been crowned Scottish Baker of the Year for 2026 in a historic win.
Representatives from the bakery thanked their customers for the accolade and described it as meaning "more than we can put into words".. Launched in 2012 by the trade association Scottish Bakers, the awards honour the creativity, skill, and passion of bakeries from across Scotland.best bread, biscuit, morning roll, doughnut, and more.
The top prize of Scottish Baker of the Year was given to family-run business Harry Gow Bakery, marking the third time the bakery has taken home the award.also took home the titles of Best Biscuit in Scotland for its chocolate caramel shortbread, Best Doughnut in Scotland for its lemon meringue pie doughnut, Best Multiple Retail Product in Scotland for its vanilla raspberry slice, Best Pastry in Scotland for its pain suisse, and Best Celebration Cake in Scotland.

The biscuit measured 78 inches wide, with Harry Gow managing director David Gow describing the experience as "an absolute blast". Other winners at the Scottish Baker of the Year 2026 awards include Musselburgh-based Company Bakery and WEECOOK in Arbroath, both of which took home the Scottish Bakery Local Hero Award.
Meanwhile, Jamie Rae from The Breadwinner Bakery in Edinburgh won Scottish Bakery Apprentice of the Year. Chief Executive of Scottish Bakers Lesley Cameron said: "This year’s Scottish Baker of the Year Awards have been a fantastic celebration of the passion, creativity and dedication that exists across Scotland’s bakery industry. From our Local Heroes to our Icons, the standard of entries was exceptional and showcased the incredible talent we have right across the country.
