A family-run restaurant which has served up authentic Greek cuisine for half a century has turned things around with a glowing food hygiene report. Zorbas, on Leece Street, was hit with a dismal one-star hygiene rating last year , which Liverpool Council inspectors put down to problems with documentation and issues with the labelling and cooling of food.

It was founded by chef Haralambos Michael, who travelled from Cyprus to bring a taste of his own traditional cuisine to the city.
