Mum Angela Wedgbury reveals how Action for Children provided vital support and financial help when her son’s complex needs and challenging behaviour led to crisis pointfrustration and began throwing things around, the family ended up in hospital on Christmas Day and Angela Wedgbury knew she was at breaking point and needed help.

The appeal has now launched a staggering £135,627, including Gift Aid, thanks to the generosity of readers and Angela hopes it will allow many more families to be supported through difficult times.“This generosity has already had an impact in communities across Britain, helping to create opportunities and give young people a better start in life.”

“Jenny would take Dexter into the garden to play on his swing or play games with him and his brother while I made tea,” says Angela. “He adored her and looked forward to her visits every week.”when Dexter moved from a mainstream school to a school for children with additional needs. While his parents were happy Dexter’s educational needs would be met, they struggled with the cost of a new uniform and travel costs to and from school.for him.
