King Store in Liverpool was targeted by masked thugs who stole £15,000-worth of stock as well as the owners pet canaries.
CCTV footage has captured the alarming moment a group of masked thugs broke into a store during far-right riots in Liverpool, stealing the owner's pets. King Store on County Road was targeted by protestors who terrorised Walton on Saturday evening, marking a night where police reported "serious violent disorder".
As tensions escalated, rioters hurled bricks and stones at the police force from a distance. This prompted an extensive emergency response, with no less than 15 riot vans arriving from different constabularies, including units from Lancashire and North Wales Police. In a spree of destruction, they shattered a window to allow more rioters access to the shop, enabling them to snatch an assortment of items such as snacks, chocolates, and vape products.
"When I got to the shop, people were coming up to me and laughing in my face, laughing that stock had been taken. They were all laughing, they all had big bags and ran away from the shop with them full. It's how they came in and how they were laughing. I don't understand." Yesterday, Merseyside Police Assistant Chief Constable Alex Goss said: "The people who have brought such aggression and destruction into the heart of our communities do not represent the people of Merseyside, and they certainly do not honour the memory of those three young girls whose lives were taken so tragically on Monday."
