Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has stated that a loan move for young defender James Debayo is unlikely before the transfer deadline. Farke also declined to elaborate on the future of Sonny Perkins, currently on loan at Leyton Orient, but acknowledged that the club is happy with their current squad numbers.
Daniel Farke says it is unlikely James Debayo will leave Leeds United on loan this month. The Leeds United chief also refused to go into detail about the future of Sonny Perkins, who is on loan at Leyton Orient.
Debayo has not played for the first-team since making his senior debut in November against Plymouth Argyle. However, despite his limited game time, the 19-year-old does not look bound for the exit door. "It makes sense for young players the experience to grow and have game time. At the moment we have to make sure in terms of numbers, the group is not getting too small. At the moment, yes it's a possibility but just a small possibility. But as it stands, I would rule it out."
He said: "I don’t speak too much about players who are out on loan. They are our players but I want to not disturb them with too many messages.
