Farmer saws off his own leg with a PEN KNIFE after getting sucked into machinery
A FARMER sawed off his own left leg with a pen knife after getting it stuck in a piece of machinery.
The farmer made the tortuous decision to cut his left leg off to free himself from the hopper, a machine that moves grain from a truck to a store. Mr Kaser, who had farmed for 40 years, amputated his limb as he started to feel the hopper pull his leg deeper into its workings.: “When it first happened, I remembered thinking. ‘This ain’t good. This is not good at all’.The farmer made the agonising decision after feeling the machine jerk him in.“I said, ‘The only way I’m getting out of here is to cut it off’, so I just started sawing at it.
He stayed conscious all the way to the emergency room and was later taken to a rehabilitation centre in Lincoln, Nebraska.
