The Department of Agrarian Reform said it has recently turned over a hauling vehicle to the Sumagosong Farmers’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Mulanay, Quezon.

SUMAFAR MPC previously signed a marketing agreement with the BJMP Gumaca District Jail in May to supply vegetables, rice, corn, fruits, root crops, poultry, and other farm products to the inmates. Engr. Cornelio P. Villapando, DAR Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II, said the provision of the service vehicle is part of the national government’s Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty program implemented by the DAR.

He expressed confidence that the vehicle will help the SUMAFAR MPC members fulfill the vision of the DAR to bring the farmers and their products closer to the market and other trading centers.
