State Route 18 is closed in both directions on the eastside following a deadly head-on collision involving a bus, semi-truck and passenger vehicle Friday morning. The Washington State Department of Transportation said the crash, which occurred just west of Tiger Mountain State Forest, is affecting both directions of SR 18 from Interstate 90 in Snoqualmie to Issaquah Hobart Road. The WSDOT first posted on X about the collision at 5:05 a.m.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson initially said on X that there were no injuries before providing an "I was just updated about this collision and unfortunately this is a fatality collision," Johnson wrote.Tow trucks have been called, Johnson said at 6:02 a.m.
