A 50 year old man was killed in a hit-and-run while riding his bike home from work on Boxing Day. Police have arrested a 29-year-old man and are appealing for witnesses.
Lee Kervin, 50, was riding his bike home from the Roebuck Garden Centre and Plough Pub in Ormskirk, where he worked as a handyman, when he was hit by a vehicle at about 18:45 GMT on Boxing Day. His family described him as a kind man who would 'give anyone the shirt off his back'. Lancashire Police have arrested a 29-year-old man from Burscough on suspicion of death by dangerous driving. Mr Kervin, originally from Parbold near Wigan, was a single father-of-one.
He lived with his 20-year-old son, Brad. Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who saw a Kia Sportage being driven in the area of Dicks Lane between 18:30 and 19:00 on 26 December.
