Scott Perry’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results are coming back to haunt him as some House Republicans lobby to keep him off a key committee, Politico.com reported.

Politico observed that Johnson faces a quandary with a “paper-thin margin” and a recent challenge from the far-right that was doused by the unlikely combination of Democratic help and support from Trump. “The FBI investigation has offered us B.S. over January 6 . . . which is part of the problems we have at the FBI,” Florida GOP Rep. Byron Donalds, a Freedom Caucus member, told Politico. “So, if there’s more oversight of the FBI, that is a good thing, not a bad thing.”
