People who live in Butts Mount in Armley have slammed those who laugh at the street name. Butts Mount is a small unassuming street with 19 homes, tucked away in LS12, in between Mickley Street and Armley Grove.
Fum Sampson, 30, has lived in Butts Mount for seven years and doesn’t find the name funny. He’s a warehouse worker, originally from Nigeria. who lives in the small street with his wife and three children. Harjinder Singh, 53, lives nearby and regularly walks through the small street. He said: “I think the name must be like from a saying or a proverb. There are loads of places that sound funny which are named after people. I don’t find it very funny.”
