Credit Suisse’s Head of Integrated Energy Saul Kavonic says Labor’s hydrogen measures from the federal budget will be needed to compete with the US in the “next five to ten years”.

“One of the key questions we really need to ask is, is this the most efficient way to do it?” Mr Kavonic told Sky News host Amanda Stoker.

“It’s only focusing on green hydrogen, so it’s excluding blue hydrogen depside the fact that blue hydrogen is also extremely low carbon.”
