City and county officials are also demanding that its lead homeless service provider release data about its efforts.
"Meanwhile, City Controller Kenneth Mejia — who operates independently of the council — announced on X, formerly Twitter, on Friday he'd be launching his own audit of Bass's Inside Safe initiative."Today, at Judge Carter's request, I spoke in court about our auditing powers & the City's lack of transparency & accountability on homeless efforts despite billions of dollars spent," Mejia said.
