Tributes have been paid to a care assistant with a ‘heart of gold’ who looked after people in need in the Valley.

Marjorie would knit her children jumpers and she would make t-shirts and sew a label on the inside with the letters MTS on it, which stood for Marjorie Towers’ Special. She met William when they were working at Antrobus Plastics in Stacksteads. The couple got married at Haslingden Registry Office in 1971 followed by a reception at Stacksteads Working Men’s Club.
