The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) visited Richland County on Tuesday after an EF2 tornado touched down on March 14th.
PLYMOUTH, Ohio - The Federal Emergency Management Agency visited Richland County on Tuesday after an EF2 tornado touched down on March 14th.Debra Kegley says she and her husband were home when they got an alert that the tornado was coming their way. She said they hid in their back room, but could still feel the wind hitting them in the face.When she was finally able to come outside and look at the damage, she was shocked.
“The front of our house is off. That end was worse. The porch was laying up here. All our siding had blown off. Our garage doors were pushed in,” says Kegley.Six different crews were out surveying the damage in Richland and 11 other counties.“We are just praying. Thank God we are still here,” says Kegley.They are focusing on assisting storm survivors, debris removal, and long-term recovery.
“Just hoping someone comes to help. We have been watching the people cleaning up they have had a lot to deal with,” says Kegley. FEMA says they are still assessing whether or not federal resources will be used to help victims, on op of the local and state resources that have been provided.
