A FEMALE journalist was shot dead while covering a riot in Londonderry last night.
Just ten minutes before she was shot, the victim posted a photograph of the violent scene online - describing it as "madness".Footage uploaded on Twitter also alleged to show the harrowing moment the fatal shot was fired.Speaking this morning, Assistant Chief Constable for District Policing Mark Hamilton said journalist Ms McKee was murdered by dissident republicans.
Harrowing witness accounts suggest the woman may have been hit by a stray bullet fired at police at around 11pm. "I called an ambulance for her but police put her in the back of their vehicle and rushed her to hospital where she died.The rioting was in response to a house search that a large number of officers conducted in the area, she claimed.A major security operation was launched in Creggan after masked thugs lobbed petrol bombs and opened fire at police.
