Former TOWIE star Ferne McCann's unexpected departure from Dancing On Ice in the second week has led her to shift her focus to wedding planning with her fiancé Lorri Haines. Despite admitting to being disappointed about leaving the show early, Ferne is looking forward to organizing her dream wedding in 2025.
Ferne McCann's unexpected exit from Dancing On Ice has left her fans disheartened as the former TOWIE star departed in the second week. Dressed as a character from Trolls for her performance, she didn't secure enough public votes to remain, despite earning an impressive 28 points from the judges. While Ferne admits to being 'gutted' about her early departure, it now allows her to fully dedicate herself to planning her upcoming nuptials with her 33-year-old fiancé, Lorri Haines .
The couple, who got engaged in Dubai in July 2022 and welcomed their baby girl, Finty, are ready to accelerate their wedding plans, which took a backseat due to Ferne's commitment to the ice-skating competition. A source close to Ferne revealed that after juggling motherhood, her lifestyle brand, Shoorah, and the show, she finally has the space to focus on organizing her dream day, scheduled for 2025. 'Now she's out of DOI early, she's got the time to plan her dream wedding to Lorri,' shared the source. Recently, Ferne, who is a mother to her seven-year-old daughter, Sunday, from a previous relationship, also put to rest rumors of a secret split from Lorri, while expressing her excitement about the wedding. In a conversation with OK!, she shared, 'I did have wedding fever over the summer, we went to some amazing weddings. I even started a Pinterest board! But it's about priorities and this year's a big year. Planning a wedding is a mammoth task and, if I'm honest, I'm not sure I can take the added stress at the moment. Maybe 2026, we'll see!' However, the source now tells us that her feelings have shifted. 'She can't wait to marry Lorri and it feels like everything is falling into place,' they shared. 'They're not sure if they want a big wedding with all their friends and family or a smaller one abroad.' Despite uncertainties about the location of the grand event, there's one thing Ferne is certain about, according to our source. 'Ferne can't wait to have the two girls walk down the aisle as flower girls,' they claimed. 'She's really happy Finty's older and will be able to walk down the aisle with Sunday. ' While the wedding planning offers some solace for her departure from DOI, there are understandably some lingering disappointments about missing out on the rest of the experience. Ferne, who was paired with US professional skater Brendyn Hatfield, expressed her sadness to hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern, tearfully saying, 'I'm so gutted, so gutted. But it is what it is. We were having so much fun, I'm really sad. Brendyn, you've been amazing, thank you so much. It's been brilliant. So fantastic.' Our source added: 'Ferne absolutely loved her Dancing On Ice experience – she's never loved any TV show so much. Her dressing room door was always open and there were always people popping in for a chat. Despite some reports of Ferne feeling 'humiliated' and having a backstage 'meltdown'' after being voted off the ice, our source was quick to debunk the whispers. 'She was gutted to leave, of course, but after the show had finished, she was more concerned about seeing Sunday and her nephews who had come to watch her skate,' they said. Putting a freeze on rumors that Ferne felt abandoned by friends who didn't promote for votes on their social platforms, they added, 'She had amazing support from her friends and family, who threw a Dancing On Ice skating party for her.' As Ferne glides away from the rink, she's not just busy planning her upcoming wedding - there's a bunch of exciting projects lining up for her after waving goodbye to her popular reality series 'My Family and Me' after an epic 13-season run. Ferne expressed her enthusiasm for new challenges, stating, 'I love a challenge, I'm big into sport – I love to swim and I've seen lots of people doing world records so I thought, 'I fancy a bit of that. ' So I will be, and all will be revealed, very soon! I also want to do more documentary-style presenting, and write a book. I've been on such a healing journey, having therapy for a long time, and I would like to share my experiences with others, especially women.' Additionally, she hasn't dismissed the idea of expanding her family in the future. 'I feel like I'm not done,' she mentioned regarding her children. 'But right now, I feel blessed. We're a blended family of five. I just feel so happy with my girls and they've got such a lovely relationship. They're already really close.'
