The event promises to bring New Orleans flare to the San Antonio tradition of Fiesta. It's a Mardi Gras celebration that is raising money to support local nonprofits helping children with disabilities .
Dozens of people were out this evening, dressed up to enjoy live New Orleans-style jazz and delicious Cajun food and drinks.“It's something that we started for two reasons. One is to give back to our community and make a difference. And two, keep our social network going,” said Abe Juarez with Fiesta on French. "Our family is involved, our boys are involved, their friends, they all volunteer. It's just a great event.
The event also includes a roulette table, tarot card reading, and a drag queen show featuring some of the best talents in San Antonio. This will be the third year for the event, and the Fiesta Commission will be out this year to evaluate it to become an official Fiesta event next year hopefully.
