Close to 30,000 people in Gaza have been killed as Israeli forces mounted an offensive to destroy Hamas, which has been the de facto government in Gaza since 2007. DFA Undersecretary for Migrant Workers' Affairs Eduardo José de Vega said the 63-year-old nun from the Missionaries of Charity Sisters of Saint Teresa, whose name was not disclosed, was safe despite the intense fighting.
