MANILA, Philippines — The Filipino-boosted Asia All-Stars succumbed to the Rising Stars, 121-124, in the Japan B.League Asia Rising Star Game in Chiba, Japan on Saturday evening.
This is the first time in the last three editions of the All-Star game that the Asia All-Stars fell to the Rising Stars.Powered by former and current Gilas Pilipinas players, the Asia All-Stars led by as many as 18 points and were still ahead by eight, 102-94, a minute into the final canto. The Rising Stars unleashed a massive 27-16 run to take a 121-118 lead but Dwight Ramos drilled a trey to tie the count.
Hachimura, however, won it for the home team by drilling a three-pointer in the last 58 seconds that proved to be the go-ahead basket.Kiefer Ravena led the Asia All-Stars with 16 points, three rebounds and three assists in 21 minutes of action.AJ Edu pumped a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Matthew Wright and Ray Parks Jr. banged 12 points each.
