Filming in Glasgow will commence on Sunday.
Set and filmed in Scotland, Mayflies is a co-commission with BBC Scotland and will be made by the BAFTA Award-winning Synchronicity Films for the BBC, adapted by Andrea Gibb from Andrew O’Hagan’s acclaimed coming-of-age novel of the same name, and directed by Peter Mackie Burns .
"Mayflies is an intimate and devastating portrait of male friendship that manages to be both life-affirming and heartbreaking, and we’re delighted to have assembled an outstanding lead cast and creative team to bring it from page to screen.” Filming of the new series is expected to commence this coming Sunday in the Calton area of Glasgow, with production crews also descending on the Trongate, Gallowgate, Bridgeton and Springburn to shoot scenes, before heading to Ayrshire.A full list of road closures and restrictions for filming is listed below:
Roads affected and dates and times of restriction applying to all vehicles, with the exception of an emergency service vehicle carrying out an emergency response or vehicles given permission from Glasgow City Council filming and events section.
