Fire bans are in place across 11 southern Queensland council areas, as large bushfires threaten central parts of the state.

A Watch and Act advisory is in place for Wutul near Dalby in Queensland. For the latest warnings, search onParts of southern Queensland face days of high fire danger as strong winds, high temperatures and dry conditions have converged to create extreme risk.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Acting Assistant Commissioner Jason Lawler said the bans would be in place until at least 11:59pm on October 17."We ask everyone to be sensible and adhere to these conditions." Judy Ferrari says the current Baffle Creek blaze has residents anxiously recalling fires that scorched the area five years ago.Mr Lawler said current conditions would remain across most of the state for the next few days.

"It's important that people understand that these are really dangerous situations," Superintendent Waltisbuhl said.
