A fire involving four burning cars that spread to a nearby building on Radford Road in Nottingham disrupted traffic and briefly affected the Medilink bus service connecting Queen's Medical Centre (QMC) and City Hospital. Emergency services responded swiftly to the blaze, and the situation has since been contained. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.

Nottinghamshire Police were also spotted at the scene of the fire, which was inside of the courtyard of the small Universal Court industrial estate. Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) warned that the Medilink bus, which operates between Queen's Medical Centre (QMC) and City Hospital, was affected by the incident. The service has now returned to normal and all stops are being served.

The blaze was first reported at 6:29 am this morning (January 15) and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said an investigation will take place today to establish the circumstances of the incident. Three fire engines attended the blaze. \Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) has now confirmed the Medilink service operating between QMC and City Hospital is now back to its normal route. The trust said: 'The Medilink is now running as normal after the earlier fire at the junction of Radford Road and Northgate.' A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has told Nottinghamshire Live that emergency services were called to a fire in the open on Radford Road at 6:29 am today (January 15). Four cars were found 'well alight' and the fire had spread to a nearby building. An investigation led by the fire service will be carried out today. Three fire engines from Stockhill and Arnold were sent to the blaze and the incident remains ongoing. \The Medilink service appears to have gone back to its normal route via North Gate and Wilkinson Street, following a previous diversion this morning caused by a fire at the junction of North Gate and Radford Road. The map seen below shows the bus, which operates between QMC and City Hospital, on its usual route. \Traffic at the North Gate and Radford Road junction, where a fire broke out this morning, is currently slow, according to Google Maps. Nearby Wilkinson Street also appears busy, as do Western Boulevard and Nuthall Road. CT4N's Medilink service, operating between City Hospital and QMC, appears to operate on a diverted route via Western Boulevard, missing stops on Wilkinson Street, Northgate, and Hucknall Road.
