A Saturday night blaze at Kilpatrick Hills was extinguished early on Sunday morning after fire crews had to wait until daylight to put it out.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to reports of a fire high on the hills late on Saturday evening but had to abandon efforts to put it out due to the dark night conditions. Efforts were resumed at first daylight on Sunday with the SFRS confirming the flames were contained with no injuries.
An SFRS spokesperson said:"We were alerted at 10.45pm on Saturday, May 27 to reports of a grass fire on Kilpatrick Hills, Clydebank. "Operations control mobilised one fire appliance to the scene, where firefighters worked to extinguish the fire."The crew re-attended the scene at 4.35am on Sunday, May 28, to check the area for hotspots and left at 6.11am after ensuring the area was safe.
