Police and fire crews descended onto the street
Emergency services were scrambled to the scene of a two car smash in Cheadle this afternoon, April 3.
Two fire engines and a technical response unit rushed to the scene on Stockport Road just before 1.20pm this afternoon. Firefighters had to rescue one man from a car which was on its side, according to Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.The man was then taken into the care of paramedics from North West Ambulance Service . The condition of the man is not yet known.
One eye witness reported seeing a car overturned on its side opposite Bullocks Coaches at around 2pm with several people crowded around it.A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “At just before 1.20pm today two fire engines from Cheadle and Stockport fire stations plus the technical response unit from Ashton fire station attended a crash involving two cars on Stockport Road, Cheadle.
“Firefighters used specialist equipment to rescue one man from a car which was on its side before transferring him to the care of colleagues from North West Ambulance Service. Crews were in attendance for around one hour.”
