A fire at a 'collapsed' barn in Kimberley will be allowed to burn out under supervision, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said. Crews attended a blaze in Gilt Hill on the afternoon of Friday, May 12, where they found 250 tonnes of straw on fire.

"It's a large quantity of hay within a collapsed burn which is being allowed to burn out." While there is no fire presence currently on site, the service said crews will be re-inspecting the fire throughout the morning.The first inspection is set to take place at 9.30am. The incident hasn't caused any road closures, with the barn located close to Giltbrook Retail Park.

Four fire engines and one specialist appliance attended what emergency services described as a "significant" fire. .
