A Scottish firefighter and his accomplished cyclist daughter will join a team of firefighters and SFRS staff to participate in the 700-mile Doddie Aid charity challenge next year, raising funds for motor neurone disease.
A firefighter and his daughter, a competitive cyclist, are gearing up for next year's Doddie Aid charity challenge to raise funds for motor neurone disease . Barrie McCutcheon, a group commander with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) based in East and West Dunbartonshire, Argyll and Bute, will participate alongside his 18-year-old daughter, Isla. Isla, an accomplished road-racing cyclist, has competed across Britain and Europe since she was eight years old.
She will join her father and a team of firefighters and SFRS staff for the 700-mile Doddie Aid challenge. Isla will turn 19 during the fundraiser on February 6th, making her one of the youngest participants. Barrie shared that Isla likely developed her passion for cycling after watching him race in Paisley. He expressed pride in her determination and hard work, highlighting her resilience in overcoming any obstacle. He eagerly anticipates participating alongside Isla and the team for this worthy cause
