Rishi Sunak has refused to confirm reports that China was behind the hack, but said there were indications it was a 'malign actor'

SSCL’s UK government clients, according to its website, include the Home Office, Cabinet Office, Department for Work and Pensions, Defra, the Wales Office, Department for Transport and Ministry of Justice. The Prime Minister’s official spokesman declined to name the firm but said the government was conducting a “security review of that contractor’s operations”, adding: “Obviously appropriate steps will be taken after that.”Mr Sunak said he had set out “a very robust policy” towards BeijingHe added that Britain was facing “an axis of authoritarian states, including Russia, Iran, North Korea and China” that “pose a risk to our values, our interests and, indeed, our country”.
