K9 Jets says their planes won't go until they're full amid environmental concerns
A private jet company catering to pets and their owners says they will offset the carbon emissions from every flight.But the move has not gone down well with environmentalists, with climate commentator John Gibbons describing it as "the kind of insanity that precedes the collapse of civilisations as end-stage capitalism enters its palliative stage".
Its founder and client director, Adam Golder, told us: "We are a pet friendly pay-by-seat service where passengers can fly with their furry family members in the cabin, rather than the hold of the aircraft, or 7 days on a ship across the Atlantic. "The cost will be circa $8,500 USD per seat which includes one passenger and one large dog over 51lbs, or two pets that each weigh under 50lbs.
Mr Golder added that their "customers are not high net worth which you may associate with private jets"."We offset the carbon emitted on each journey as standard, where in comparison many commercial aircraft ask you to opt in."
