How will Todd Monken's offense perform against Cleveland's No. 1-ranked defense? And is there a chance Deshaun Watson could miss the game?
The challenge for the Ravens is how to attack a defense that hasn’t shown any vulnerabilities. The Browns’ linebackers have the speed to keep Jackson contained. They also have the defensive personnel to throw a lot of bodies at Andrews and make Jackson beat them outside the numbers.
For a Baltimore team not expected to be full strength at running back, wide receiver and along the offensive line, Cleveland will be a major test. “They just play hard,” Monken said. “They’ve done a nice job of their acquisitions in the offseason bolstering their defense. Obviously, bringing in Jim, and they’re bringing in the new defensive scheme. It has a new excitement, a new enthusiasm. … There’s a belief system, then it gets translated onto the field, so then it just raises, like, ‘OK, this is what it looks like.’ That’s our job — to do everything in our power to not have that happen come Sunday.
During game weeks, we’ll look at some of the biggest storylines, key matchups and primary questions the Ravens face heading into their contest. Now for this week’s first-and-10:Schwartz, a Maryland native, didn’t hide his defensive plan of attack for Jackson. “We’re going to try to take the fight to him,” he said. The Browns are blitzing 32 percent of the time, which ranks 10th in the NFL.
