A mother and daughter who were killed in a crash during Storm Babet have been named by police. Cheryl Woods, 61, and Sarha Smith, 40, from Caerphilly in Wales died following the smash on the M4 in Wiltshire on Friday, October 20.
A section of the motorway was closed as police launched their probe and recovery for the vehicles was arranged. Roads Policing Unit Acting Inspector Will Ayres said that investigations at the scene took a "significant time" because of the "seriousness of the collision". "Her selflessness was a defining trait, consistently prioritising her family's well-being over her own, and she took immense pride in her Welsh heritage while nurturing a deep love for nature."
