With energy bills becoming a burden for many, even in the summer months, some experts are offering respite as different cleaning methods could save homes a fair bit of cash
While inflation might be easing, energy prices remain much higher than just a few years ago. Experts at Bionic have revealed how households can keep their bills low by switching out some of their cleaning methods around their most energy-draining appliances.
They explained: “Ice build-up in your freezer causes it to work harder to stay at the required temperature. Defrosting your freezer when you notice too much ice can help it operate more efficiently.” Staying in the kitchen, the expert’s third tip urged people to properly clean their dirty kettles, getting rid of all the limescale that’s taking more energy to boil and leaving an odd taste in your cuppa. They advised: “Even in as small amounts as a millimetre, limescale can increase energy consumption by 7 per cent.
