Chip and Joanna Gaines made their long-awaited return to HGTV on Sunday, debuting their new series Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse.
The episode celebrated Chip, 49, and Joanna, 46, as they celebrated the 10th anniversary of their beloved series.Now they're back with a six-episode series, with Chip revealing at the start of the episode that he bought this house to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
Joanna added, 'And so now, I think with this lake house, there's something about it that just feels significant that this project landed on our ten-year"fixer"anniversary.' They go inside and marvel at the view, though they seemingly disagree about Joanna's plans to put in terrazzo flooring in two areas.
The couple revealed they had always wanted a lakehouse, but there weren't too many in Waco, but they found this at the right time for the right price.'For ten years, we have been in the Fixer Upperuniverse, and this lake house feels like a cherry on top of it,' Chip says. Chip adds, 'In the last few weeks, we've really started to transform this house. Upstairs, the primary bathroom has a completely new layout. Downstairs, we framed out the new kitchen. We also furred out that wall to create that little nook in the dining room. We got all new electrical throughout the house, and out back, turns out, the pool needed to be completely resurfaced, which cost us a little bit more than a cleaning, but it's not a budget buster.
Chip says, 'It's just like when I see those trusses, -my heart... My spirit wants to jump up and see how many pull ups I can do,' which he actually pulls one off.
