Responders had the fire contained after about two hours.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A public use cabin abutting Quartz Lake near Delta Junction caught fire Monday afternoon, but the blaze has since been quashed.
Another witness called 911, and the Fairbanks Emergency Communications Center then alerted local authorities. The Alaska Division of Forestry and Fire Protection , Delta Junction Fire Department and Fort Greely Fire Division responded.“The fire was getting bigger really fast,” Montgomery said. The DOF said no one was inside the cabin as it burned and that they do not know what caused the fire.
