Two fire appliances were sent to the blaze.
The blaze took hold under the bonnet of the motor parked outside the Lidl and B&M stores in Cowdenbeath, Fife , on Monday afternoon.The red Hyundai was reportedly empty as it sat parked outside the shops. The fire, although mostly under the bonnet, appeared to have grown into flames engulfing the front of the car.

The bonnet can be seen propped open with flames spilling out as two firefighters kneel on the ground next to it with a hose. No other vehicles were affected.A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 2.03pm on Monday, 13 January, to reports of a car on fire on High Street in Cowdenbeath.
"Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene. Crews then left the scene after ensuring the area was safe."
