A US-bound flight made a U-turn over Glasgow after issuing an emergency code.
The Delta Airlines DL187 was travelling from London to Los Angeles on Monday afternoon when the crew declared a squawk 7700.
This code is used to communicate on-flight emergencies and, depending on the nature and severity of the situation, crews may conduct checks before formally declaring an emergency. Delta Air Lines DL187 from London to Los Angeles made a u-turn over Scotland and is heading back to Heathrow due to a medical emergency. This is the 2nd LA-based flight to declare emergency over Scotland in two days.
