Crews have been working to repair the damage and provide support to people affected by the flood on Monday
Water supply has been restored and floods drained following a clean up operation on Gerrard Street in Rochdale . The road was hit by floods from a burst water main in the early hours of Monday morning, with residents saying that this is not the first time the street has been flooded.
Some homes were severely affected by the floods, which rose to several feet deep when the water was at its highest. United Utilities told the M.E.N. that some people have been placed in 'alternative accommodation' following the flood.A spokesperson for United Utilities told the Manchester Evening News: “Our teams successfully completed the repair last night and all customers are now back on supply.
Rochdale Boroughwide Housing has told the M.E.N. that their team also attended on site to support tenants who had been affected by the flood. A spokesperson for RBH said that none of their tenants had been forced to move out of their home due to the water. Rochdale Borough Council confirmed to the M.E.N. that they offered support where needed to both United Utilities and RBH.
