Warning s remain in effect along the Kuskokwim RiverANCHORAGE, Alaska - Low pressure is rotating over the Alaska Peninsula and this system will direct clouds and precipitation into the state over the weekend. The clouds and rain and coming at an inopportune time, with an Warning s for ongoing flooding in Bethel and Kwethluk, as well as Oscarville, Brown’s Slough, Napaskiak, and Napakiak, will remain through the weekend. Water levels were rising in all these communities.

Don’t let any weather breaks lull you into complacency. Friends of the Chugach Avalanche Center say the danger will be high over the Mother’s Day weekend.
A G-4 class geomagnetic storm is expected to kick auroral activity into high gear across the state and parts of the Lower 48 and even internationally! The bad thing is the extensive clouds that are likely to impede views. If the clouds clear enough in whatever part of Alaska you are in, look to the skies!
